Kenneth Copeland??

Post by Darth Vader on Tue Nov 24, 2009 9:01 pm

Kenneth Copeland has risen in fame over the years. I for the most part just thought he was an extreme faith teacher that bordered on loopyness. But I stumbled upon this website and found some very disturbing teachings by this man. One of them stating "Adam was God manifested in the flesh".

Have a read of this and share what you think??

Careful there, Darth. First a disclaimer. I am not, nor have ever been, remotely interested in Kenneth Copeland's ministry - so this is not a defence of him.

But when I visited that website you linked, my immediate reaction is that these are unsubstantiated claims about Kenneth Copeland, so be careful what conclusions you make for yourself based solely on the claims of this site.

As a Christian, is it my goal to tear down others (as loopy as they may sound/be), or is it to build up the kingdom of God by being mindful of what my life represents to others in my world?

There - had a read, and that's what I think.

While I understand a need to expose false teachers and teachings I'm a bit hesitant to start righting off others like a certain other fellowship does. I don't want to become a self-righteous know it all, I know God is bigger than that.

God in Adam.....gee, that is minor compaired to Copeland's actual herecies that he and his wife have promoted over the years.

A good place to start and veiw Copeland's involvement and promotion of 'Faith Movement' false teachings is on YouTube, look up 'Charismatic Crisis' and off you go.

A good read is the John Ankerburg's 'Facts On - The Faith Movement'
Copeland refused to be interveiwed by Ankerburg.

Make no mistake, after researching the preachers of the Faith Movement, you will not feel that you are in anyway tearing down 'brethren'. The problem is that their teaching have encroached into the Christian lexion via the charastic churches and many saints have embraced 'FM' herecies to varying degrees.

Copelend, Hinn and companmy are new age gospel devotees. They are not Christians.

I will say this to Xaine and anybody else who wants to accuse me of "tearing down others"

I am not intending this to tear down anybody. Or to present myself as a self-righteous know it all. This web-site actually lists dates and times of the comments allegedly made by Mr. Copeland. So as has been discussed earlier regarding other issues, we are here in part to discuss false teaching as much as promote truth. So my post was not (if you look carefully) aimed at his character or person, but at his teachings.

If you want to hide behind these excuses for not exposing error in peoples teachings then we haven't learnt much from recent events in our lives have we.

Just a thought.

Steady on guys. I not a big Copeland fan. I think what he and his pals preaches encourages an idea that we all can get rich and have no problems but what he says is not totally crazy.
He preaches that faith is important which it true and teaches the idea of men being "little gods" which in a nutshall means that God created men in his image and gave them autority. Men messed up (Eve and the apple etc) and now through Jesus redemption we can live ourlives again with a sense of authority, our lives bring glory to God. I am not saying those views doesn't have flaws but to say he is not a Christian in my opinion is out of line.

Darth - didn't mean to touch a sore point. I was actually referring to the authors of the website, not you. :-)

Like I said, if you read the John Ankerberg book, you will understand that these guys are not Christians.
Also the movements that these guys have brought into the church world are of Hindu origins and can be clearly seen in ashrams and amoungst the yogi's. There is 'faith' and there is The Faith.
Do the research, they are more then , 'send in a $100 to our ministry...' tele-evangelist.

I am in agreeance with Alpine, these guys K Copeland and B Hinn etc are perverting the christian faith and are on dangerous ground. I heard Hinn the other day say that you aren't a mature christian if you don't pray for 3-4 hours a day. They guys are creating their own image of God and portraying their version to the people, talk about a golden calf

Dude are you sure you have left PH? Cause you sure sound like them. So quick to throw judgement on the next guy. "Oh look they said that oh they can't saved"
Look I have been around long enough to know if I grab enough snippets from any preacher's sermons I can make anyone sound like a cult. Also I heard PH and ECC preachers and preachers say things that can easy be considered to be just as offensive as what Benny Hinn said. I am not a fan of faith preachers or prosperity teaching but that doesn't mean I go around calculating if someones saved or not simply because I don't agree with what they say.

As I said, read the John Ankerberg 'Facts On - The Faith Movement'...John is not in either ECC or PH.
Also 'Christianity in Crisis' by Hank Hanogram (I think that how you spell his name). Hank is also not in the Potter's House.
On You Tube......'Charismatic Chaos'....not made by CFM .... I think you get my point.
And comments by John McArthur...needless to say he is not in PH but is highly critical of Hinn, Crouch, Copeland etc etc...because Copeland and co. are heretic on CORE Biblical theology.

Sternking, to whom are you you directing your post to? Aren't you judging as well? Saying "are you sure you left PH?" what is that? Are you saying all those in PH judge peoples salvation, based on what they hear a person say?
post is a bit hypocritical don't you think???

Myth, I would not worry about whether or not you think Sternking is being hypocritical (perhaps a little strong) but point Shernking to Ankerburg etc etc.....

The thread is about Copeland and Co, not Sternking

Myth, Alpine you are both right. This topic is about Copeland and I should not have said anything against you or PH and for that I appolgise.
Tell you what Alpine I will look into what Ankerburg says about Copeland and I will let you know what I think afterwards sounds fair?
