I'm not a member of ECC, but I know that ECC used to be part of the same group as The Door, but not anymore - not since early 2009.
Hence the name ECC.

Foursquare Covenant

Post by antibius on Sun Aug 23, 2009 9:42 pm

It may have been mentioned, but in light of Mitchele's claim against pastors & churches that seek to pull out, and the big indictment against Vicary for "breaking covenant"; I came across the following covenant Mitchele would have signed (or similar) as a licenced 4Square minister...

BYLAWS OF THE FOURSQUARE CHURCH 2009 - 47
APPENDIX
Minister’s Code of Ethics
As an ordained or licensed minister or Christian worker, ...I declare myself in harmony with and bind myself to the objects, purposes and provisions of the Articles of Incorporation and bylaws of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. I dedicate myself to the faithful performance of the ministry to which I have been called and will at all times strive for Christian unity.
I pledge to give the fullest consideration to my fellow ministers and to seek the best interest of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel and the cause of Christ...
I agree to comply with the foundational principles, processes and procedures of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, as set forth in the following Board approved documents: “The Declaration of Faith,” “Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.” I will exhort my fellow Foursquare ministers to uphold the principles of a holy life and to adhere to the
foundational principles, processes and procedures of the international Church of the Foursquare Gospel.

The Bylaws also talk at length regarding property, of which, the PH Prescott would be bound and aware of.

Interesting. I don't know if it's been mentioned on this site but when WM split from Foursquare and had to give up all the church properties, he told the then-current PH pastors in a formal meeting that he had no idea that the property belonged to Foursquare and had to remain with them. I have the info somewhere. I'll dig around and find it.

Cool. I bet there are recordings of his mention of the Prescott property, because I do recall him even mentioning it in an Aussie conference. Greg Johnson would know.
But who would build a large building on land they didn't know who it legally belonged to? No-one! Including PM - which can only mean he is lying.

If anyone is interested in what happened in regards to property when WM split from Foursquare, you can read further details at this link.

The link goes to the "Escape from the Fellowship" website. The relevant info is about 11 paragraphs into his post.

Cheers.

ECC Cancelled Services?

Post by oh_when_ on Tue Sep 22, 2009 10:57 am

Is there a reason why we have had services canceled here recently? Is this the new friendly family church, night off format? I wonder how many services Satan takes off for family night.........the writing is on the wall and we don't even see it. If alarm bells are not ringing, then they will never ring...

??????

If you are referring to ECC recently having only morning services then it would be because our hall we rent in Morley has been booked out and we have had nowhere else to go.......... it's not a HUGE deal its just a short season while we are getting things sorted to move into our own building where we will be back to the normal schedule

Just because we have simlar service times doesn't mean we "do, what they do" (dumb statement that) for example we don't cut people off, we don't see our selves as the only true church, and we are not run by a man who stands himself as the modern day moses equivalent.

If you must know, Sunday morn services are our main service, Wednesdays are usually a bible study night or guest speaker night.

I think me and Micah are having a laugh at your expense people..
I find it funny that you find 3 services as 'normal', to me normal means that everyone else is doing it but from what I understand, most churches do not do 3 services at all.

@AWee - your way too touchy for my comment to be taken as a judgmental comment. Am I the only one who thought "3 services as normal" funny??

.I really hope i am not Judgemental [maybe mental lol] but looking around i cant see anywhere i want to go TO. Meaning it all looks the same but different.

MY only viable option imho is to start a home church but i dont know if i am ready for that. Smile

Micah - all I can suggest is to try visiting a few churches....if you look past the few things they do differently than you are used to, you might actually find a great bunch of people that love God...I have learnt not to be so judgmental towards other churches since all this went down - I had to stop looking at churches through the ph filter and see the genuine people with a heart for God.
(hope I am making sense!)

yes a bit sensitive on our part, I have come to find one of the reasons why we get guest speakers wednesday night is because their own churches have nothing on that night, and they are amazed at the turnout we have for church on a wednesday night, it's definately not 'normal' for them. laugh
