Q. Which Potters House church does this forum refer to?

The Potters House churches discussed are not TD Jakes' Potters House. The Potters House referred to is the group of churches under the Christian Fellowship Churches (CFM) umbrella that was started by Wayman Mitchell in the mid-70's in Arizona. These churches are known as The Potters House, The Door, and a small number are called Victory Chapel.

In spanish, they are referred to as "La Puerta" and "La Casa Del Alfarero".


Q. What is the purpose of this forum?

This is a forum which was created after the 2009 Potters House church split. The split occurred in the Beechboro church in Perth, Australia. The main role of the forum was to allow discussion among ex-members as they worked through leaving the Fellowship and re-evaluated the beliefs taught by the Potters House that many who left felt were unbiblical or inappropriate.

The forum was also felt to be a necessity due to an almost non-existence of moderated online discussion regarding the Potters House. The main role of the forum has now shifted to providing a resource of information for those who have questions about the Potters House. The main concern is not with individuals in the Fellowship, but with some of the teachings.

Q. Who can join the forum?

All are welcome to join, including current members of the Potters House. All that is needed to register on the forum is a valid email address. The forum is moderated, so personal attacks will be removed and members whom continually cause problems may be banned. Members and guests are welcome to disagree with viewpoints on the forum, just as long as the discussion doesn't erode into verbal abuse or badgering.


Q. What is the guest forum?

The guest forum is the only area where unregistered guests are permitted to write posts. Guests do not need to sign up. To post in the other areas of the forum, guests will need to register. Posts in the guest forum will moderated and access may be removed without notice.

Q. What is Eternity Christian Church?

When David Vicary resigned from the Beechboro Potters House (Perth, Australia), he was asked by other ex-members to become senior pastor of a new church which other ex-members decided to join. A small number of other Potters House churches also decided to come under the Eternity name after becoming dissatisfied with the events of the Beechboro split.


Q. Who is now pastoring the Beechboro Potters House?

After David Vicary resigned, Wayman Mitchell initially took over for six months, and then subsequently announced Tom Payne would be taking over. Tom Payne is on the Board of Elders and was pastoring in Gallup, New Mexico at the time of the split.


Q. How many churches does the Potters House / CFM have?

Potters House websites estimate that CFM has over 1700 churches worldwide. In reality, it is likely less than half that amount. Various church splits have occurred, and many pioneer churches either close down after a few years or merge with another Potters House church.
